What Is A Public Insurance Adjuster’s Process

Each claim has it’s own set of problems and solutions. We’ve closed thousands of claims, and it just wouldn’t be possible without a proven system in place. Our system is based on years of claims handling so you can rest assured your claim is always “on track”.

Every claim starts out pretty much the same. You suffer damage, contact the insurance company to file a claim and they send someone out to tell you how much they are willing to pay for your damages.

As a premier Houston area public adjuster, we start each claim as though it was new. We do this whether we are involved from the beginning, or we get involved during the claims process. This ensures that we are able to best assist you with the requirements of your policy that you may not even be aware of. That’s why we usually start with the paperwork to make sure everything is “just right”.

Once we’re done with the paperwork, you will get put on our schedule for inspection. As your public insurance adjuster, it is important that we understand the policy you have and how it relates to the type of damage that occurred.

At this point we’ll assemble all of the data collected during our inspection and put together your claim package. Once that is done we send it over to your insurance company for review. It’s at this point that your insurance company will see key issues that we are highlighting that need to be addressed with your claim.

Typically the next step is to schedule a “re-inspection” with your insurance carrier. This is done so that we can point out all of the items that the insurance company may have missed or overlooked when they sent out their adjuster. We will meet their adjuster on site and thoroughly re-inspect the property with them making sure to address all of the important items.

Following re-inspection the insurance company may take some time to do more research or to hire experts like engineers, etc. This is the point at which we as public insurance adjusters should be able to close out your claim and forward payment that was received from your insurance company. Unfortunately that rarely happens that way. More often than not further dispute and negotiation is needed with the insurance company.

Sometimes they listen, and sometimes they don’t care to listen. This is where your public insurance adjuster should really begin to shine. We’ll use our knowledge, experience, training to support and defend our position on your claim in order to try to have the carrier correct their estimate. This will usually result in an increase in the payout amounts naturally.

While using a public insurance adjuster is not required, if you think your claim has been underpaid, or handled incorrectly we always recommend speaking with a Houston Public Adjuster for a second opinion. We are always happy to provide free consultations and claim reviews along with recommendations whether we take your claim or not. This can be invaluable when dealing with an insurance company that doesn’t “play by the rules”.

We are a licensed and bonded Public Insurance Adjusters providing top-notch claim services for residential and commercial owners.
